1,375 MG BEET ROOT POWDER

Every 3.25 g scoop provides 1,375 mg of beet root powder (Beta vulgaris, root) — the ingredient the tin is named after, and the largest single component of the blend.

1,000 MG HIBISCUS FLOWER

Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) flower powder gives the drink its tart, berry-like taste and its deep red colour. 500 mg of apple juice powder rounds out the flavour.

STEVIA ONLY — NO ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS

The only sweetener on the label is stevia leaf extract. Maltodextrin is used as a carrier. That is the complete ‘other ingredients’ list — nothing else is added.

NUTRIENTS THAT SIMPLY DELIVER

SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN

BEETROOT SUPPLEMENTS AND THE STUDIED DOSE

Beetroot's reputation rests on dietary nitrate, which the body converts to nitrite and then to nitric oxide. The trials behind that reputation use large amounts — commonly 400–800 mg of nitrate a day, from concentrated juice shots or 15 g servings of powder.

A 2023 analysis published in Foods measured nitrate, nitrite and antioxidant capacity in 50 beetroot-based dietary supplements alongside 20 beetroot samples. Its conclusion was blunt: a serving of fresh beetroot provides significantly more antioxidants, nitrites and nitrates than most daily portions of those supplements.

Published figures put commercial beetroot powder at roughly 6–16 mg of nitrate per gram. One scoop here contains 1,375 mg of beet root powder — an estimated 8–22 mg of nitrate. We would rather put that number in front of you than leave it out. This is a daily beetroot drink, not a nitrate loading protocol.

HIBISCUS — AND WHO THE RESEARCH STUDIED

A 2022 systematic review and meta-analysis in Nutrition Reviews pooled 17 randomised controlled trials of Hibiscus sabdariffa. It found an average reduction in systolic blood pressure of 7.1 mmHg against placebo, with the largest effect in participants whose blood pressure was already elevated at the start. The authors state that more work is needed to establish an effective dose and duration.

Two things follow from that, and we will say both. First, those trials studied people with raised blood pressure — a medical situation, not what this product is for and not a claim we make. Second, the trials in that review generally used several grams of hibiscus a day; one scoop here provides 1,000 mg.

If you take blood pressure medication, speak to your doctor before adding hibiscus to your routine.*
