Time for change
Apache Star - that's the name of the speedboat in which Roger Klüh sailed from Key West (USA) to Havana (Cuba) in record time in 2015, setting an example of international understanding. Seven years later, the entrepreneur has set out on a new mission with his fiancée Jessica Frühbrodt: Together they have founded a fashion label and given it a symbolic name: Apache Star.
Not without reason. Like the boat of the same name, the fashion and lifestyle label is intended to reflect Klüh's fighting spirit and fight for change in the fashion market. How exactly? As it says on its homepage, Apache Star is "redefining fashion in the age of sustainability." The approach, it says, is "a complete paradigm shift focused on awareness and sustainability."
Slow Fashion: Focus on sustainability
Apache Star attaches great importance to maximum sustainability and fair working conditions, from resource procurement to production and shipping. For example, materials used include sustainable organic cotton and recycled polyester, only Oeko-Tex™-certified and vegan water-based inks are used for products, and garments are made only after the order is placed.
In addition, the label donates one percent of sales to promote CO2 removal. In other words, Apache Star is involved in various projects to offset carbon dioxide emissions.
Three highlights that convince
- The casual, sporty design
- The focus on sustainable fashion and fair working conditions
- Apache Star donates reclamations and faulty clothing to those in need
T-shirts and tops, hoodies and sweatshirts, jackets and vests, pants, shorts and dresses: the garments for men and women have a casual, sporty look. In addition to stylish streetwear, Apache Star's range includes cool accessories such as bags, cell phone cases, caps and bucket hats. You can also find lifestyle items like pillows, towels and water bottles in the online store.
