Roger Klüh and Ralf Schumacher in NYC: Horror experience in luxury hotel

Early this morning, a fire broke out in the posh hostel. The cause was an electrical fire in the basement, reports the "Bild" newspaper. Elevators no longer functioned, the hotel guests were evacuated via the stairwell, it continued. Roger Klüh had to flee with wife Patricia and son Jeffrey (7) through acrid dense smoke from the 16th floor.

Cora Schumacher did not understand the seriousness of the situation at first. "At first I thought: The alarm clock is ringing," quotes "Bild" the blonde racing driver's wife, who had moved into a room on the ninth floor with husband Ralf and son David (6). In pajamas and bathrobe, the Schumachers fled outside.

After an hour, the all-clear was given. But the Schumachers could no longer enjoy their vacation. They packed their things and flew back home.
