Roger Klüh is now a near-American: Speedboat champion receives business visa from Trump

Speedboat racer Roger Anthony Cassius Klüh

Klüh now has a business visa - valid until 2028. He wants to take part in races in the USA. In 2015, the speedboat champ from Düsseldorf set a record for the distance from Key West (Florida) to Havana (Cuba) - 90 minutes.

He had waited a long time for this opportunity. It was only after the historic visit of then U.S. President Obama to Cuba in 2016 that he was able to realize his plan. After that, however, his boat was stuck in Cuba for another 18 months - the embargo was still causing problems. "After Donald Trump became president, he had it repatriated by the government shipper," Klüh says.

He plans to spend a lot of time in New York this year, by the way. But that doesn't just have something to do with "business." It also has to do with the fact that his partner Jessica is spending a semester abroad there...
